The Estate

The estate is made up of just under 1000 acres on the west side of the South Downs National Park in Hampshire. The traditional landscape of rolling hills and woodland is put to farming both arable and livestock and our forests are classed as ancient as they have existed for over 400 years.

These woodlands are sustainably managed so that they may best serve the environment, creating the optimum habitat for the native wildlife and trees, as well as providing timber to feed our biomass system. The biomass boiler provides all of the heat needed to supply every building on the estate with central heating and hot water.

In addition to this we have our own solar array that provides more electricity than we use ourselves with the surplus being fed back to the national grid and we have our own bore holes that sustain all of our water needs. This leaves us with a totally neutral carbon footprint as well as the knowledge that we are doing as much as we can for the environment.
